UPDATE: It was noted at today’s Press Conference that a 43-year-old man is the latest COVID-19 case. Health Officials became aware of the case last night, after the man went to the Arima Health Facility. At least eight (8) people reside at the man's home - two (2) of them are children.
One child from the home is an SEA pupil at Tacarigua Presbyterian School. Health Officials have advised that the school be closed. Contact Tracing is now underway. The man works as a delivery driver, and he continued to work while he had symptoms.
The Ministry of Health revealed in its 10am update this morning (Monday 27th July 2020) that there is yet another positive COVID-19 case in Trinidad and Tobago. As with cases 139, 141 and 142 before, the Ministry notes that this latest case is also pending epidemiological investigation. This is therefore a possible fourth case of local spread in T&T. The total number of recorded cases now rises to 148.
No further details about this new case has been provided by the Ministry at this time. The Ministry will be hosting a Press Conference at 11am this morning where we expect additional information to be provided.
Watch the live stream of the Press Conference below when it begins at 11am.
