A 39-year-old man of Arouca is expected to be charged for the murder of 4-year-old Amarah Lallite of #20 Fifth Street, Five Rivers, Arouca, which occurred on Monday 8th April, 2024. This comes after investigators received advice from Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr. Roger Gaspard, SC, on Friday (12th April, 2024).
According to Police reports, around 10:10 PM on Monday 8th April 2024, the First Responders, all of whom are attached to the Arouca Police Station, were on duty at the Station when the informant came to the Station and made a report of a domestic dispute she had with her common-law husband, which turned physical. The First Responders were then dispatched and accompanied the informant to her home at #20 Fifth Street, Five Rivers, Arouca. Upon arrival at the location, they called out to the suspect, who approached them and made certain utterances. A check was then made of the house and the decapitated body of the deceased 4-year-old girl was found lying on the floor in a room. The suspect was then taken into custody after being cautioned. An audience was also held with DPP Mr. Roger Gaspard, relative to the death of Kynplyn Sandy, who was fatally shot on Monday 25th March, 2024 in the Tunapuna district. The DPP has advised that the suspects, ages seventeen (17), eighteen (18) and nineteen (19), be charged for murder, possession of firearm and possession of ammunition. It is alleged that around 4:50 PM on Monday 25th March, 2024, Police having received certain information, went to Upper Fairley Street, Bamboo Road, Tunapuna, where they observed a male of African descent, lying motionless on his back underneath a concrete and wooden structure, with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head. Relative to the death of Jahiem Lewis, which occurred on Sunday 31st March, 2024, Acting Deputy DPP, Mrs. S. Jaglal, during consultations, advised that 28-year-old Kerinme Daniel Gardener be charged for the offences of murder, possession of firearm and possession of ammunition. Initial reports reveal that at 10:00 PM on Sunday 31st March, 2024, the Central Division Task Force Unit were on mobile patrol duties in the Enterprise, Chaguanas area, when they received a report of loud explosions at Bhagaloo Street, Enterprise, Chaguanas. Having responded, they observed what appeared to be several spent shells scattered on the roadway. The deceased, who was shot at the said scene, was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility, where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigative teams from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), under the supervision of Head of Homicide, Snr. Supt. Rishi Singh, ASP Victor, Insp. Ramjag and Sgt. Ramsahi Singh, presented the facts before the DPP, who advised that the suspect be charged. We are a small operation.
