The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) said it wishes to inform the public that around 9:40 AM on Thursday (14th December 2023), while Chief Fire Officer Bristo was proceeding West on the Priority Bus Route (PBR), a pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle.
In a Media Release on Thursday, the TTFS said, “This incident occurred near the San Juan Promenade as the pedestrian was crossing the intersection. After witnessing the unfortunate accident, Chief Fire Officer Bristo stopped to provide assistance to the victim and ensured that he was taken to the Emergency Room.” The TTFS said it is aware that there are “contrary versions” of Thursday's events being circulated, “but they do not represent the facts of this incident.” In particular, a video shared on social media, showing the pedestrian lying on the roadway moments after the incident, implied that the Chief Fire Officer was responsible. The TTFS added that it wishes the victim a speedy recovery. More on this as it becomes available. We are a small operation.
