Students will not be required to wear face masks when schools physically re-open for Term I of the Academic Year 2022/2023 on Monday 5th September 2022. The announcement was made a short while ago by Chief Education Officer, Dr. Peter Smith, during a Press Conference held by the Ministry of Education. Dr. Smith said masks will be “necessary but not mandatory.” Minister of Education, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, stated at the Press Conference that approximately 305,000 students and 30,100 teachers are expected for the physical opening of Term I of the Academic Year 2022/2023.
