Armed Bandits made off with TT $250,000 early this morning at the Gulf View Branch of Massy Stores. At approximately 6am as employees were arriving to start their Shift, they were held up at gun point, forced to enter the Store and then tied up.
Story continues below.
A Manager of the Branch was then forced to give up the keys to the Vault, where the large sum of cash was being held until later in the day when it would have been deposited at the Bank. The Bandits may have been aware of this time-frame as well as other details as they specifically chose early morning to launch their attack.
After emptying the Vault, the Bandits escaped in a waiting vehicle. Officers from the San Fernando C.I.D visited the scene and issued an All-Points Bulletin for the vehicle and are also seeking to obtain all available CCTV footage. Investigations are continuing.
