Several suspects were arrested and a firearm and a quantity of ammunition seized during ongoing anti-crime exercises in the Central and North Central Divisions this week.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), in the Central Division, Task Force Officers conducted an exercise around 11:30 AM on Monday (18th March, 2024), during which they proceeded to the Claxton Bay district. Based on intelligence gathered, Officers arrested a male suspect with a black Glock firearm, loaded with a magazine containing seventeen (17) rounds of ammunition in his possession. Meanwhile, in the North-Central Division, Officers conducted an anti-crime exercise between 11:00 PM on Tuesday (19th March, 2024) and 4:00 AM on Wednesday (20th March, 2024), in the St. Joseph district. During the exercise, Officers of the St. Joseph Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Major Crime Unit, conducted enquiries into several reports of motor vehicle larceny and drug trafficking. As a result, a total of eleven (11) persons, ages fifteen (15) to forty-one (41), were arrested for varying offences including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, motor vehicle larceny and robbery with violence.
