The Ministry of Health has announced on Saturday morning (28th March 2020) that Trinidad and Tobago now has a total of 74 positive cases of COVID-19, adding eight (8) more since yesterday afternoon’s update. So far there have been two (2) deaths and one (1) person has been discharged. The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has tested a total of 487 samples to date. The Ministry notes that of the 74 positive cases, 49 of these came from the group of T&T Nationals who recently returned from a cruise. T&T will be locked down for all non-essential businesses from Midnight on Sunday 29th March 2020 until 15th April 2020 in an attempt to slow the rapidly growing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
