A man is dead following a shooting incident in Port-of-Spain yesterday evening (Saturday 13th April, 2024). The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Kerry Baird, a security guard of Fatima Trace, Laventille.
According to reports, Baird was working at a building along Henry Street, Port-of-Spain, around 5:20 PM, when a blue Hyundai Elantra pulled up next to him. A man alighted from the car and opened fire on Baird. The suspect then returned to the vehicle and drove off.
Baird was found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police and Emergency Health Services were notified. However, Baird died at the scene.
A team of Officers responded to the scene, led by Sgt. Harripersad. Crime scene investigators recovered nine (9) spent 9mm shells. WPC Prince is said to be continuing enquiries into the murder.
