According to the Attorney General’s Office, the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act, 2019, will ensure that information on sexual offenders can be shown on an online website for the public to access their names, addresses, photographs and offences committed. The Commissioner of Police can also publicise this information for the public to be aware and better protect themselves. The new law went into effect on 31st January 2020 and is the first time in history that such a mechanism is being used to fight against sexual crimes.
In a Media Release issued on 3rd February 2020, the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs stated the following: .....perpetrators of sexual crimes will face the full brunt of novel laws aimed at deterring, punishing and shaming rapists, paedophiles and those others with a propensity to commit sexual crimes.
Also of importance, victims of sexual crimes can now legally seek compensation from their attackers if they contract a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).
Between 2000 – 2019, there were a total of 1,693 persons convicted of sexual offences in T&T, however, none of these persons were registered in a Sexual Offenders Registry. The new law will empower the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) to better monitor and track sexual offenders who must frequently report to their nearest Police Station and provide essential details about themselves, including their fingerprints and DNA. Children will also be protected by the new law as it serves to widen the category of persons who must mandatorily report cases of sexual abuse. Failure to do so will result in an offence being committed. See the Media Release below from the Ministry for further details and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Former 'Beverly Hills 90210' and ‘Charmed’ star Shannen Doherty (48) revealed on Tuesday 4th February 2020 that she's been diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Shannen also said the Cancer came back last year - before her former co-star Luke Perry's death - and has kept it private until now.
She was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2015 and was very transparent about her struggles at the time - frequently documenting Chemotherapy treatments and Hospital visits on Social Media. However, this time around, she silently dealt with her Cancer while filming Fox's recent BH90210 reboot. One of the reasons, along with Luke — that I did 90210 and didn't really tell anybody because I thought, people can look at that other people with stage four can work, too. Like, you know, our life doesn't end the minute we get that diagnosis. We still have some living to do.
Shannen’s revelation today comes ahead of the public finding out later this week as part of her lawsuit against State Farm. She is suing the insurance company over unpaid claims following damage to her house caused by last year's devastating Wolseley fire.
I'd rather people hear it from me. I don't want it to be twisted, a court document. I want it to be real and authentic. I want to control the narrative. I want people to know from me.
Watch Shannen’s exclusive interview with ABC News below and stay tuned for updates.

Summer 2020 is the time for F9, the ninth chapter in the Fast & Furious saga that has endured for almost two (2) decades and has earned more than U.S $5 Billion around the world. F9 will hit Theaters on 22nd May 2020. Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, next year’s The Suicide Squad).
F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as Director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.
The film stars returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang, with Oscar® winner Helen Mirren and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron. F9 also features Grammy-winning superstar Cardi B as new franchise character Leysa, a woman with a connection to Dom’s past, and a cameo by Reggaeton sensation Ozuna.
