A man is dead and another wounded following a shooting incident in Maraval last night (Sunday 5th May, 2024). The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Clinton Cross of Moraldo Street, Maraval. The wounded person is said to be a 28-year-old man, also from the community.
According to reports, residents of Moraldo Street heard several loud explosions around 9:40 PM. Upon investigating, they found Cross and the 28-year-old man lying on the ground in a pool of blood. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and a team of Officers responded to the scene, led by Sgt. Romeo and Cpl. Periera. However, Cross succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The wounded 28-year-old man was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) for medical treatment. He is said to be listed in serious condition as of 9:00 AM this morning (Monday 6th May, 2024). Crime scene investigators recovered several rounds of 7.62mm and 9mm spent shells.
