The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) is informing the public of an unfortunate incident involving one of its buses and a child, who is said to be an 11-year-old schoolboy, in the vicinity of Pashley Street, Port-of-Spain, earlier today (Tuesday 23rd April, 2024).
In a Media Release following the incident, PTSC said Emergency Services were “immediately dispatched to the scene, and the injured child received prompt medical attention. The child is undergoing further medical tests at the Eric Williams Sciences Complex.” The statement added, “The safety and well-being of our passengers, pedestrians, and the general public are of paramount importance to the Corporation. We are co-operating fully with the relevant authorities as they conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. As such, the Corporation will be guided by the investigation and will provide updates accordingly.”
The Media Release concluded by saying, “Our thoughts are with the affected child and his loved ones, and we wish him a speedy recovery.”
