A businessman is dead following a shooting incident in Debe last night (Thursday 25th April, 2024). The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Earle Samsoodeen, aka ‘Piggy,’ of Debe Trace, Debe. Samsoodeen, a father of two (2), was the proprietor of Cyborg Clothing, located at SS Erin Road, Debe. He was fatally shot as he returned home from work in his car.
According to reports, Samsoodeen left his business place around 11:00 PM on Thursday night in his silver Toyota Aqua and headed to his home, a short distance away.
His employee received a call that loud explosions were heard at his employer’s home, and he left the business place and headed to Samsoodeen’s home. Upon arrival, he saw the silver Aqua was reverse-parked in front of the gate to the home. He then found Samsoodeen seated in the driver’s seat but slumped across the passenger seat. He was bleeding from several gunshot wounds to his body. With the assistance of his co-worker, the employee took Samsoodeen out of the car, placed him in another vehicle and took him to the San Fernando General Hospital for medical treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries around 11:57 PM.
Police retrieved his cellphone at the Hospital and a sum of $4,500 which was in his car’s glove compartment.
Crime scene investigators found twenty (20) spent 5.56 casings and a projectile. Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region III are investigating the murder.
