The Ministry of Health will be hosting a virtual Press Conference at 11am this morning (Wednesday 7th April 2021) to update the public about the latest developments with COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Ministry reported twenty-two (22) new cases yesterday. The country’s death toll remains at 145 at this time. It was revealed yesterday that Prime Minister Keith Rowley tested positive for COVID-19 while in Tobago. He is currently isolated. The Prime Minister was supposed to receive his vaccine yesterday, but would now have to wait six (6) months before he is eligible. Due to the continued rise in COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Education has announced that Standard 5 students will NOT physically return to schools on Monday 12th April 2021. The Ministry of Health continued its vaccination roll-out yesterday and reported that over 1,000 persons received their first jab by the end of the day.
