The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) is advising customers served by the Mayaro Water Treatment Plant, who are presently experiencing an interruption in their supply, that this is as a result of vandalism and theft of electrical equipment at Mayaro Wells No's 8 and 9, which was discovered today (Tuesday 17th May 2022).
Emergency repairs currently underway, are expected to be completed by Thursday (19th May 2022). Areas affected include:
The Authority further advises that it may take up to twenty-four (24) hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize following the completion of these works.
