The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of the Freeport area, served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant, who are experiencing low pressures or no water supply, that this is due to a leaking 16-inch diameter raw water pipeline, which is affecting production at the facility.
WASA said extensive emergency repair works to replace a segment of the pipeline is being undertaken and will result in a full shutdown of the Plant from 6:00 PM on Friday 24th March to 6:00 PM on Saturday 25th March 2023. Affected areas include the following:
