Shortly after 5pm this evening (Saturday 9th January 2021), the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) advised that Prime Minister Keith Rowley is resting comfortably and under the care of his doctors and medical team. The OPM said the Prime Minister underwent an angiogram and a subsequent angioplasty, which went well. Coronary angioplasty, also called percutaneous coronary intervention, is a procedure used to open clogged heart arteries. In accordance with normal medical procedure the Prime Minister will be kept for further observation again, overnight. The OPM thanked all well-wishers for their prayers and messages and ended its latest update by saying, “We look forward to the Prime Minister being discharged and will continue to provide updates on his well-being.” According to reports, Prime Minister Rowley was admitted to West Shore Medical Private Hospital around 5pm yesterday evening by his security detail. He was kept overnight for observation while further tests were conducted. The OPM noted this morning that the Prime Minister had a “comfortable night” and would have medical tests conducted today.
