According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), a trough in the upper levels of the atmosphere has enhanced some low-level perturbation and convergence. This has caused showers and rain this morning (Monday 26th September 2022) and the flaring up of a few thunderstorms along the Lesser Antilles, including Trinidad and Tobago.
The Met Office says partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are forecast to continue today with light to moderate showers occurring in varying areas and a medium chance (60%) of isolated heavy showers or thunderstorms. Conditions are expected to gradually settle during the evening. In the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, always be on the look-out for street or flash flooding and gusty winds in the vicinity. A Riverine Flooding Alert (Yellow Level) has been issued for 10:00 AM today to 10:00 AM on Wednesday (28th September 2022). Tropical North Atlantic The Met Office notes that this morning there is a flagged area of disturbance in our area of interest in the tropical North Atlantic and East of the Lesser Antilles. At 8:00 AM today, this area was given a high chance for cyclonic formation over the next forty-eight (48) hours, but its forecast track is expected to eventually take it Northwestward. Given the projected path at this time, it is not expected to pose any direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago. We are a small operation.
