Popular Crime Watch Host, Ian Alleyne, announced in a Facebook video on Wednesday (21st April 2021) that he will no longer be seen on CNC3, after only less than a month on that network. From Wednesday, Crime Watch returned to its previous home on Synergy TV. Crime Watch started to air on CNC3 on 24th March 2021. There has been rampant speculation that Alleyne was “fired” from CNC3 following his recent controversial comments which were directed towards Prime Minister Keith Rowley. In one such comment, Alleyne said live on-air that he wishes the Prime Minister a “slow recovery” from COVID-19, the day news broke that he tested positive for the virus. Alleyne was still clearly angry over his treatment by the Prime Minister last year when he too tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed in State quarantine for a month. Prime Minister Rowley had allegedly chastised Alleyne during a Press Conference and in subsequent interviews, suggesting Alleyne went to Miami, came back here and spread the virus around. Following Alleyne’s recent controversial comments, the very next day and since then, he attempted to soften his harshness towards the Prime Minister - leading some to believe he was reprimanded by CNC3. In Wednesday night’s broadcast of Crime Watch, Alleyne exclaimed “mission accomplished!” and said he works for no one and no one can fire him.
