The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed on Sunday (6th June 2021) that Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby girl named Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. This is her second child with husband Prince Harry. Harry and Meghan's first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born 6th May 2019. According to an official statement on the website of Harry and Meghan’s charity foundation and production company, Archewell, the couple’s baby was born at 11:40am on Friday (4th June 2021) at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Mother and child are "healthy and well and settling in at home.” The statement goes on to explain the baby’s name, "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."
