The Management of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is advising all truckers and other users of the cargo service to/from Tobago, that all repair works to the M.V. Cabo Star have been completed.
The Port Authority said in a Media Release that owners of the vessel are awaiting the outcome of inspections today (Monday 18th September 2023) by the Classification Society, RINA, before certifying the vessel for safe operations. As soon as the certification is obtained, the vessel will be back on schedule. A fire incident occurred on the vessel, following its departure from the Port of Scarborough, Tobago, at 11:23 PM on Wednesday 23rd August 2023. The fire was later isolated and extinguished by crew members, in accordance with vessel emergency protocols. No injuries were reported onboard. The Management said it regrets any inconvenience that may have been caused during the absence of the M.V. Cabo Star. “The service will resume as soon as the vessel is certified as safe to operate.
