Following this morning’s announcement that Prime Minister Keith Rowley tested positive for COVID-19, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Roshan Parasram, said the Prime Minister will now have to wait six (6) months for his vaccine. This, Dr. Parasram noted, is according to the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations, which states that anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 must wait six (6) months before getting the vaccine. The Prime Minister was set to get his AstraZeneca vaccine today, but he will not be eligible now until October 2021. Attorney General, Faris Al-Rawi, stated that the rest of the Cabinet is not being tested for COVID-19, nor are they part of the Contact Tracing process as they have not had any in-person Cabinet meetings in some time.
