The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has advised that periodic showers and Thunderstorms are anticipated over this weekend and into the new week as a large area of convergence is approaching the region. The Met Office notes that the situation will be dynamic, however, this Friday (30th October 2020), Saturday and Monday looks like the most significant days in terms of rainfall and Thunderstorm activity. Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami is also closely monitoring this area of disturbance and notes the following at 8am this morning (Thursday 29th October 2020): A large area of disturbed weather moving from the tropical Atlantic across the Lesser Antilles and into the eastern Caribbean Sea is associated with a pair of tropical waves. Upper-level winds are expected to become more conducive for development of this disturbance during the next couple of days, and a tropical depression could form over the weekend or early next week while the system moves westward across the central and western Caribbean Sea.
