UPDATE (28/03/21 - 10am): The Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) is in effect and the Met Office says that localized flooding is highly likely and rivers with smaller capacity can overflow their banks. Seas can become agitated due to strong winds. Flash Flooding is currently ongoing in Sangre Grande and several other areas. In the midst of the Dry Season, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued an Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) for a total of fifty-four (54) hours. The Adverse Weather Alert goes into effect from 8am on Sunday 28th March until 2pm on Tuesday 30th March 2021. According to the Met Office, periods of rain and showers of varying intensities, are expected mainly on Sunday and Monday, with a 60% - 70% (medium to high) chance of Thunderstorm activity. Gusty winds in excess of 55 Km/hr may be experienced especially in the vicinity of showers/Thunderstorms and localized flooding is highly likely. Seas can become agitated due to the strong winds.
