Health Ministry: NO Imported Monkeypox Case In T&T — ‘Fake News’

The Ministry of Health is advising the public that Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh did NOT announce today (Tuesday 24th May 2022) that T&T confirmed its first imported case of the Monkeypox disease — calling it “Fake News.”

An image currently circulating on social media falsely states, “Minister of Health, the Hon Terrence Deyalsingh has confirmed Trinidad and Tobago's first imported case of monkeypox disease. More details coming soon.”

The Ministry is advising citizens to get reliable information and updates from official sources only, such as the Ministry’s website at health.gov.tt and its social media accounts.
