Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh announced at the Ministry of Health’s virtual Press Conference this morning (Wednesday 26th January 2022) that beaches will open from 5am to 6pm, effective from Monday 31st January 2022. Prior to this, beaches were only allowed to open until 2pm. These hours will also apply to reef tours, swamp tours and similar tours — at 50% capacity. No parties or alcohol will be allowed. The Public Health Regulations will be updated soon to reflect these changes. The Minister said he was authorized by Prime Minister Keith Rowley to announce the change this morning. The decision was taken after a meeting yesterday between the Prime Minister and Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), Farley Augustine.
