A statement from Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, late on Saturday (12th June 2021) said that pursuant to Regulation 3(10)(ao) of the Emergency Powers (No. 2) Regulations, 2021, with effect from Monday 14th June 2021, Hardware Stores, Book Stores and Art Supply Stores ONLY are hereby authorized to operate, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, on the following days and times:

Book Stores
Art Supply Stores
Members of the public and operators of the above-mentioned stores are advised to comply strictly with the other legal requirements of the Emergency Powers (No. 2) Regulations, 2021, the public health guidelines and legal requirements of the Public Health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)] (No. 16) Regulations, 2021. Additionally, shoppers are also asked to limit the time spent in the above-mentioned stores by restricting their purchases to those essential items that are required. The Ministry said it will continue to monitor this development and take steps to safeguard the health of the population. Hardware Stores were temporarily allowed to open on 7th and 8th June 2021 in specific areas only, following recent flooding in those areas. We are a small operation.
