The Ministry of Health revealed in its 10am update this morning (Tuesday 15th September 2020) that there are forty-two (42) additional cases of COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago plus yet another death. The latest death is an elderly female with co-morbidities. The Ministry reported a total of ninety-nine (99) cases plus two (2) unfortunate deaths just yesterday. The country’s death toll now stands at (56). T&T’s confirmed cases now jumps to 3,183, with 2,329 being active cases. Eleven (11) persons have been discharged and 2,061 patients are in home-isolation under the continuous monitoring of the respective County Medical Officer - Health (CMOH) offices. The Ministry stated these forty-two (42) positive cases are from samples taken during the period 4th September to 14th September 2020. Therefore, this figure is NOT representative of the positive cases over the last 24 hours only. The Ministry also notes that there are currently 100 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at Hospitals - seventy-five (75) at Couva, twenty-two (22) at Caura and four (4) at Arima. Among the patients at Couva, four (4) are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and six (6) are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU). There are also currently 126 COVID-19 positive patients in step-down/transition facilities. The forty-two (42) new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.
