Prime Minister Keith Rowley announced several more COVID-19 restrictions at a highly-anticipated Press Conference this afternoon (Monday 3rd May 2021) in a further effort to curb the continuing spread of the virus.
As of Midnight tonight, the following new restrictions will be added to the current list:
Prime Minister Rowley said the additional adjustments to the COVID-19 Public Health Regulations are necessary to reduce the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Prime Minister also revealed that discussions will continue with the Minister of Finance to provide support to persons in need. For the month of May, $5 Million will be allocated to provide food support. Ecclesiastical bodies will receive $10 Million to distribute to those in need. A sum between $40 Million – $50 Million is being finalized to assist those impacted by the restrictions.
