The Ministry of Health revealed in its 10am update this morning (Monday 14th September 2020) that there are forty-nine (49) additional cases of COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago plus yet another unfortunate death. The latest death is an elderly male with co-morbidities.
The Ministry reported a total of forty-nine (49) cases plus two (2) deaths just yesterday. The country’s death toll now stands at fifty-four (54). T&T’s confirmed cases now jumps to 3,091, with 2,250 being active cases.
Fifteen (15) persons have been discharged and 1,959 patients are in home-isolation under the continuous monitoring of the respective County Medical Officer - Health (CMOH) offices.
The Ministry stated these forty-nine (49) positive cases are from samples taken during the period 3rd September to 12th September 2020. Therefore, this figure is NOT representative of the positive cases over the last 24 hours only.
The Ministry also notes that there are currently 102 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at Hospitals - 70 at Couva, 27 at Caura and 5 at Arima. Among the 70 at Couva, three (3) are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and five (5) are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU). All five (5) patients at Arima are also in ICU. There are also currently 128 COVID-19 positive patients in step-down/transition facilities.
The forty-nine (49) new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.
