Eyewitness reports indicate that around 7am this morning, Thursday 19th December 2019, a man driving a WASA van suddenly sped up at a red light onto incoming traffic and collided with an Almera vehicle. The van continued to accelerate, causing the Almera to crash into other vehicles.
In the end, a total of six (6) vehicles were damaged. It appears the driver of the WASA van suffered a seizure just prior to the crash, causing his foot to push down hard on the accelerator. When the van eventually came to a stop, the engine was still revving and when passers-by opened the van door, the man was shaking uncontrollably. WASA has confirmed one of its drivers was involved in the incident but has not yet revealed his identity, noting the man has previously suffered medical issues and that they will issue a statement later. The man was taken to Hospital. Watch the video below, which was taken moments after the crash. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

UPDATE: Just moments after the House impeached President Trump, Speaker Nancy Pelosi declined to say when — or even if — Democrats will deliver the articles of impeachment to the Senate, casting doubt on how far this process will actually go.
We'll make that decision as a group, as we always have, as we go along.
In only the third time in U.S history, President Trump has been impeached in the House of Representatives late on Wednesday 18th December 2019. The House voted 230-197 to charge Trump with “Abuse of Power” and 229-198 to charge him with “Obstruction of Congress.”
The House voted almost entirely along party lines for the two (2) articles of impeachment, except for two (2) Democrats who voted against impeachment. The votes came after eight (8) hours of debate in the House. Lawmakers made a barrage of speeches ranging from 1 to 2 minutes, with each side laying out a summary of the arguments they have been making for weeks. What does this mean for President Trump and what happens next? The next step is expected to begin as early as January 2020 when the case moves to the Senate for a trial to determine if President Trump will be removed from office. The Senate has the power to convict the President with a two-thirds majority — thus removing him from office — or acquit him. However, there's effectively zero chance the Republican-controlled Senate will remove President Trump from office. The historic votes for impeachment on Wednesday comes after a long and wide Democratic investigation that spanned three (3) months. They allege that President Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate his political rivals (Joe Biden and his son) while withholding US $400 Million in security assistance and a White House meeting. Further, they also allege that President Trump then blocked members of his administration from participating in the Democratic investigation. Only two (2) other U.S Presidents have been impeached by the House for "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" - President Andrew Johnson in 1868 and President Bill Clinton in 1998. President Richard Nixon resigned in 1974 before impeachment proceedings against him could reach the House floor. Both Johnson and Clinton were acquitted by the Senate. However, unlike Johnson and Clinton, who were impeached during their second terms, President Trump will face re-election less than a year after his impeachment, giving voters the opportunity to have the final word in November 2020. See the opening remarks made by House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, before the start of the impeachment debate on Wednesday: We gather today under the dome of this temple of democracy to exercise one of the most solemn powers that this body can take: The impeachment of the President of the United States. If we do not act now we would be derelict in our duty. It is tragic that the President's reckless actions make impeachment necessary. He gave us no choice.
Just minutes before he was impeached, President Trump took the stage at a campaign rally in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He has of course insisted throughout the investigation that he did nothing wrong in his "perfect" call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky back in July 2019.

Good news if you’re an RBC customer. The bank has announced that all of their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) are now calibrated to dispense and receive the new polymer $100 bills. RBC does not charge its customers a fee for withdrawals or deposits at its ATMs.
Standard service fees apply to RBC customers who deposit their funds over the counter inside of a branch, however these fees do not apply to senior citizens with an RBC SixtyPlus account. Customers are still required to deposit their old $100 bills into their accounts before they can withdraw new ones over the counter. RBC says this was necessary in order to maintain accurate records of all cash transactions in keeping with internal policies, established international best practices, and regulatory requirements to which they must adhere to as a large, global financial institution. See a statement below from RBC’s Managing Director for T&T, Gretchen Camacho-Mohammed, about the availability of the new bills at all RBC ATMs. The quick timelines associated with this process have required us to double our efforts and speed up technical work to make sure our systems can accept and dispense the new banknote. At this already-busy time of year, we want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone involved, including our clients, our vendors, our technical teams, and our branch staff.

Creative counterfeiters are working hard to replicate the look of the newly-released $100 polymer bills. These fakes are already being widely circulated and the fear is that the busy Christmas Season will only escalate this problem.
However, according to Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, counterfeiters may get close to replicating the look of the new polymer bills, but they won’t be able to replicate the feel or the built-in security features. Unlike the former paper-based blue bills, the new bill is printed on plastic. A video was released a few days ago showing the differences between a fake $100 bill and the real one. The fraudulent bill shown in the video closely resembles the new bill but it is a different shade of blue. When held up to infrared light, the fake bill also lacks the security features of the real bill. According to Minister Young: The surfacing of a video on social media is not surprising but the counterfeit attempt is easily identifiable.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has issued a weather update stating that low-level convergence and moisture will likely aid in the development of showers overnight and tomorrow (Sunday 15th December 2019).
Showers can get heavy at times and there is also a low chance for Thunderstorm activity over a few areas. It is possible for this additional rainfall to slow the recession of flood waters in parts of South Trinidad. A Riverine Flood Warning remains in effect until 12pm on Sunday 15th December 2019. The Met Office notes that gusty winds are possible at times and Street/Flash Flooding may also be possible in isolated areas. See some photos below from the recent flooding in Mafeking (Credit: Renelle Kisson) and stay tuned for updates.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has extended its Riverine Flood Warning by another 24 hours, ending at 12pm on Sunday 15th December 2019. This time it has downgraded the Warning from Orange to Yellow Level.
Flood waters are slowly subsiding in affected areas of South Trinidad, however a few areas still remain inundated with flood waters. Spring Tides and additional rainfall is expected to slow the recession of flood waters but general improvement is expected over the next few days. See the updated Riverine Flood Warning below from the Met Office and stay tuned for updates.
Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, is warning citizens against leaving banks with large sums of the new $100 polymer bills, as they may be a target for criminals. He noted that all citizens carrying out this exercise of exchanging their bills needed to be very careful.
Young issued the warning earlier this week in Parliament while responding to a question from UNC Senator Wade Mark. Mark asked what measures were being implemented by law enforcement to ensure the safety of citizens going to commercial banks to exchange their old paper-based $100 bills for the new polymer bills. See Minister Young’s response below and stay tuned for updates. The banks are working with us, the banks have increased their private security, the police and Defence Force are also assisting with a security blanket.
