The driver in the viral video claims he is now receiving death threats following the incident, which appears to show him driving over a collapsed woman’s head and arm. The woman, Simone Ferreira, who suffered an Epileptic Seizure shortly before the incident, is alive but struggling with pains about her body.
In an interview with Guardian Media, the driver (47) from San Juan asked for his identity to not be revealed and said people have been threatening to shoot him and burn down his car. He insisted that he simply did not see Ferriera on the roadway when he turned the corner and suggested the Sun played a role in the incident. He also claimed, luckily for Ferriera, that his vehicle was not working properly on that day, which forced him to drive slowly.

They keep saying I run over the woman’s head and the woman’s hand. That is not so. The only thing I could tell you I run over is her bag. When I swing the corner all I could see is something like it’s garbage because the garbage truck wasn’t far behind me, so all I felt was like I touching something like garbage with my wheel. The sun does also hit you straight in your eye at that time and the front of my car was higher than the back coming over that incline.
Police have not charged the driver with any crime to date, even though he has already given them a statement. Stay tuned for updates.

Multiple people were killed on Saturday afternoon (3rd August 2019) in a mass shooting near a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. One person is in custody. The FBI and ATF are assisting authorities with the investigation.
Most of the victims are believed to have been at the Walmart store, which is adjacent to the Cielo Vista Mall. Shoppers were sent racing for cover in a chaotic scene that prompted a massive Police and Medical response. The shooter has been identified as Patrick Crusius (21) who is a resident of Texas. Authorities are investigating online remarks previously made by the shooter, which attacked immigrants and showed sympathy to the Christchurch attacker who is accused of killing 49 people in mass shootings at two (2) New Zealand Mosques earlier this year.
One official said that the specific number of people killed and wounded was subject to change, noting that some of the victims were critically wounded. See the brief statement made by Walmart below as well as photos from the scene. We’re praying for the victims, the community & our associates, as well as the first responders.
