Early on Sunday morning (21st July 2019), both Ronald Deonarine (21) and his 18-year-old girlfriend Stacy Paul died after Deonarine lost control of his blue Mazda 323 Hatchback.
The tragic accident occurred shortly before 1am along Garth Road in Williamsville. Deonarine apparently ran off the road and struck a concrete Culvert, then slammed into a Utility Pole. The impact of the crash caused Deonarine’s girlfriend, Stacy, to be flung from the front seat onto the back seat. She may have suffered a broken neck and died at the scene. Meanwhile, Deonarine was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital and succumbed to his injuries there. Autopsies were performed and revealed both died from head injuries.
Pictured Above: Stacy Paul (left) and Ronald Deonarine (right).
According to Deonarine’s sister, Ariel, her brother never held a Driver’s License and was illegally driving on the nation’s roads for the past two (2) years. Ariel also admitted that Deonarine took their grandfather’s car on the night of the accident without permission.
See statements below from TTPS Road Safety Co-ordinator, Brent Batson, as well as Arrive Alive President, Sharon Inglefield.
TTPS Road Safety Co-ordinator, Brent Batson:
Unfortunately there are many who still subscribe to the prehistoric thinking of `de boy can drive he eh need no license’. The incident exemplifies the dangers associated with operating a motor vehicle without the basic requisite training in the licensing process. What is even more disturbing was persons close to the victims were aware of the that fact but chose to condone such lawlessness and now must live with that for the rest of their lives. Why didn’t neighbours or family report it to the local police station or the Licensing Authority? We can’t act unless the information comes to us.
Arrive Alive President, Sharon Inglefield:
We appeal to all our young people to avoid undue risks and to do defensive driving lessons prior to taking the steering wheel of a vehicle to drive. Just like a pilot has to be taught to fly, we all need to be taught to drive. We are losing too many on our roads this year again. It is all avoidable.
Their bodies will be cremated side-by-side at the Shore of Peace on Wednesday 24th July 2019.

After holding the record for highest-grossing film for nearly a decade, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ was dethroned this weekend by ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ which has now made US $2.79 Billion globally.
Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige, predicted the old record will be broken on Saturday night (20th July 2019) at the San Diego Comic-Con. Feige also made many announcements about the next batch of movies and shows from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel's ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was released in late April and dominated the Box Office in no time, raking in US $1.2 Billion globally in its first weekend and crossing the US $2 Billion mark 11 days after release. The film was re-released in Theaters in late June with the addition of a deleted scene. See the statement below by Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige about ‘Avengers: Endgame’ breaking the previous record held by ‘Avatar.’ You have to shout-out to Mr. James Cameron, who held that title for a long time. If you adjust for inflation, he still holds the title, and he'll probably get the title again as soon as he puts out another movie. But for right now...'Avengers: Endgame' is the biggest film of all time.
Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige, took the stage at Comic-Con on Saturday 20th July 2019 to pull back the curtain on Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After 11 years and 23 movies and following the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ the Marvel boss revealed that Phase 4 of the MCU includes 'Black Widow,' Disney+ shows and sequels to 'Thor' and 'Doctor Strange.'
In addition to theatrical film releases, there will also be Marvel shows that connect to the films on Disney+, which is the upcoming streaming service from Disney. Early on in the Comic-Con panel, Feige revealed that up first will be Scarlett Johansson's ‘Black Widow,’ which will open on 1st May 2020 and is directed by Cate Shorthand. ‘The Eternals’ will follow on 6th November 2020 and Feige brought out the cast, including Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikarus, as well as Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek as Ajax, Lia McHugh and Don Lee as Gilgamesh. Feige then went on to reveal details of other upcoming movies and shows. The next ‘Thor’ movie was revealed to be titled ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and will debut on 5th November 2021 from filmmaker Taika Waititi. At the end of the panel, just when fans thought he was done, Feige caused a new uproar by casually telling fans there were films he didn't have time to talk about, such as ‘Black Panther 2,’ ‘Captain Marvel 2,’ ‘Fantastic Four’ and movies about mutants (code for ‘X-Men’). He also revealed that Mahershala Ali would be joining the MCU as ‘Blade,’ the Vampire Hunter that was played by Wesley Snipes in three (3) movies previously. These films were unfortunately not given release dates. It’s important to note that out of ten (10) announced Marvel movies and shows that were given release dates, exactly half of them will be exclusive to the Disney+ streaming service. See the full slate of upcoming Marvel movies and shows below and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Which movie or show are you most excited for?
