A woman attempting to cross the Chaguanas Main Road in the vicinity of RBC Bank was knocked down by a car around 7am this morning.
The woman was dressed in dark brown trousers and a tan jacket and appeared to be a worker from nearby PennyWise Cosmetics. Police cars and an Ambulance arrived on the scene shortly after, along with a large group of her co-workers. The woman was seen lying motionless on the ground at 7:15am while being fanned by a co-worker as an Ambulance arrived. Stay tuned for any further updates.

UPDATE 2: The Met Office has cancelled the Adverse Weather Alert as of 4:47pm on Wednesday 19th June 2019. Lingering moisture may still result in some isolated showers through the evening and the first half of tomorrow (via @TTWeatherCenter).
UPDATE: The Met Office has further extended its Adverse Weather Alert until 5pm on Wednesday 19th June 2019 - with most of the rainfall activity expected over Tobago.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is advising citizens that its current Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) has been extended once again, until 12 Noon on Wednesday 19th June 2019.
Periods of rain and/or showers and isolated Thunderstorms are likely to continue to affect Trinidad and Tobago, however most of the activity is expected during the early morning period. As a result of recent rainfall activity, areas susceptible to Landslips/Landslides are at greater risk and the presence of strong low-level winds can result in gusts in excess of 55km/hr at times. UPDATE (25/06/19): There have been massive traffic pileups along the Southern Main Road today, which is the first full day under the new traffic changes. Angry motorists and Maxi Taxi drivers were stuck for hours in bottlenecks from the Valsayn Intersection.
The Ministry of Works & Transport wishes to advise citizens that from 24th June 2019 and for the next six (6) months, there will be a change in the traffic flow of the Southern Main Road in the vicinity of the Curepe Intersection (Churchill Roosevelt Highway/Southern Main Road. The existing CRH/SMR Intersection will be shifted approximately 150m east.
This will result in the following changes in the movement of traffic (see maps below):

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has now extended its Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) until 4pm on Tuesday 18th June 2019. While there is currently a lull in activity, another round of widespread showers and Thunderstorms are forecast for later this evening and through tomorrow.

Additionally, winds can gust in excess of 55km/hr in the vicinity of showers or Thunderstorms.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is continuing to urge citizens to exercise extreme caution on the nation’s roadways.
Minister of Education, Anthony Garcia, announced today that the results for Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) exams will released on Friday 28th June 2019.
Minister Garcia made the announcement at Education Towers this morning and also said that following consultation with stakeholders and a legal opinion, the SEA results will continue to be published in Newspapers. However, parents will have an option to not have their children's results published - once they have written the Ministry beforehand with their request. Within recent times there were some issues that were brought forward in the public domain. Issues that have been identified by both parents and the stakeholders. Issues with respect to transparency and the right to publish or not to publish that might infringe on privacy issues and also established practices. Scotiabank has launched Intelligent Deposit Machines (IDM), allowing their customers to deposit cash without the use of an envelope.
It's a feature hailed to be the next generation of ATMs by Scotiabank’s Senior Vice President of International Banking, Brendan King. He said it's a convenient way to bank, saving customers time and money. At the launch of the new machine, Mr. King said the device will allow customers to deposit cash envelope-free, and receive access to their funds in real time. UPDATE (9:15am): A tree has fallen along the Erin Road in Santa Flora and has rendered the road impassible, bringing down power lines. T&TEC is on site, with traffic being diverted through Francis Trace. Expect traffic delays (via @TTWeatherCenter).
UPDATE (7:15am): Heavy rainfall with Lightning, loud Thunder and high winds occurring right now in Central and other parts of Trinidad. Poor visibility and difficult driving conditions on the Highways and roads as citizens try to make their way to work this morning. Drive safely on wet roads.
UPDATE (3:30am): Inclement weather has started across T&T with Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall across Trinidad presently. Rainfall rates of 100mm/hr are occurring in localized areas. Several parts of Trinidad have picked up 20-40mm of rainfall in the last 3 hours and there are reports of Street Flooding in Southwest Trinidad. There have been 2,100 Lightning strikes recorded since Midnight with some areas experiencing power surges, outages and flickering lights (via @TTWeatherCenter).
Due to an oncoming Tropical Wave plus the ITCZ, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has issued an Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) from 2am to 3pm on Monday 17th June 2019.
Periods of Showers and Thunderstorms, associated with the combination of a Tropical Wave and the ITCZ (Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone), are likely to affect various parts of Trinidad and Tobago. There is also the likelihood of winds gusting in excess of 55km/hr, especially during the morning. Street/Flash Flooding or Landslips may occur in heavy downpours.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a new close-up photo of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on Father's Day. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle posted the new photo on the couple’s Royal Instagram page, which features Archie clutching Prince Harry's finger.
The post was captioned "Wishing a very special first Father's Day to The Duke of Sussex” and over 1.2 Million people have already ‘double-tapped’ the photo in 3 hours. Their son Archie was born on 6th May 2019 to much fanfare across the globe. Archie’s Christening is set to take place in July 2019 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
