A 50-year-old woman was killed in a vehicular accident in Mayaro over the weekend. She has been identified as Ormilla Rajkumar of Guayaguayare, Mayaro. According to reports, Police responded to an accident around 12:30 AM on Sunday (11th September 2022) along Guayaguayare Road, Grand Lagoon Village.
Upon arriving at the scene, Officers found a mangled blue Nissan Frontier overturned on the Western side of the roadway. Rajkumar's body was said to be halfway out of the left front window. The driver of the Frontier, Kevin Cuffie, 36, of Guayaguayare, was taken to the Mayaro District Hospital by Fire Service Emergency Medical Technicians where he was treated and transferred to the Sangre Grande Hospital. Police were unable to interview him at the time due to his condition. Police suspect the van struck a wooden TSTT pole as it was broken in several pieces near the van.
