A 40-year-old shop proprietor was granted $200,000 bail with a surety on Wednesday (11th May 2022) after appearing before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate, charged with possession of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition. The accused was ordered to report to his local Police Station biweekly as part of his bail conditions.
Sean Sayers, also called ‘Saeed’ and ‘Butters,’ of Upper Richplain Road, Diego Martin, was arrested on 9th May 2022 and later charged on 11th May 2022 by PC Bocage of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF), following the execution of a search warrant at a shop. According to Police reports, at 9:40pm on 9th May 2022, WDTF Officers searched a shop during which they allegedly found and seized a Glock 17 nine millimetre pistol and fifteen (15) rounds of ammunition. The shop owner was immediately arrested and charged in connection with the find. Sayers is expected to re-appear before the Court on 8th June 2022. We are a small operation.
